Special Issue Introduction

The froth flotation process plays a crucial role in separating solid particles based on the differences in their physical and surface chemistry properties. This process employs flotation agents to strengthen the distinctions of surface characteristics among different minerals. These flotation reagents can be divided into various functional applications, including collectors, depressants, frothers, regulators, flocculants, etc. At present, the world processes more than two billion tons of ores enriched by froth flotation every year. As a result, the demand for efficient flotation reagents has never been more significant. This Special Issue of “Flotation Reagents” warmly welcomes Research and Review papers on a variety of topics, including the synthesis of new flotation reagents, investigation of adsorption mechanisms and interaction effects, applications of flotation reagents for the processing/separation of different ores, the study of how different reagents interact with mineral surfaces, analysis of solution chemistry of mineral/flotation systems , and the processes of aggregation and dispersion of minerals. We encourage submissions from all practitioners in this scientific field.
