Special Issue Introduction

As cyber threats continue to evolve, the fields of cyber security and digital forensics have become increasingly vital in safeguarding sensitive information and ensuring the integrity of digital systems. Cyber security encompasses a wide range of practices and technologies designed to protect networks, devices, and data from unauthorized access, attacks, and damage. Meanwhile, digital forensics focuses on the identification, preservation, analysis, and presentation of electronic evidence, playing a crucial role in investigating cyber crimes and ensuring accountability. The rapid evolution of technology and increasingly sophisticated cyber threats present numerous challenges for cybersecurity and digital forensics professionals. Emerging trends such as the rise of ransomware, the proliferation of Internet-of-Things (IoT) devices, and the complexity of cloud computing environments have heightened the need for innovative solutions and strategies. Additionally, issues surrounding privacy, regulatory compliance, and the ethical implications of digital investigations must be addressed to navigate the evolving landscape of cyber security and digital forensics effectively.

This Special Issue aims to gather the latest research and developments in the fields of cyber security and digital forensics, providing a comprehensive overview of current trends, issues, and challenges. Topics of interest include, but are not limited to:
● Threat Intelligence and Cyber Threat Hunting;
● Incident Response and Recovery Strategies;
● Forensic Analysis of IoT Devices;
● Malware Analysis and Reverse Engineering;
● Cyber Security Frameworks and Best Practices;
● Data Privacy and Protection Regulations;
● Digital Evidence Collection and Preservation;
● Machine Learning Applications in Cyber Security and Forensics;
● Challenges in Cloud Security and Forensics;
● Ethical and Legal Considerations in Digital Investigations;
● Emerging Trends in Cyber Crime and Cybersecurity.

We invite academics, research students, and professionals to submit their original work. Extended conference papers with at least 50% new content are also welcome.
