Special Issue Introduction

In today's digital age, multimedia data are stored, transmitted, and processed in digital formats. The rapid and exponential growth of multimedia data in everyday life underscores the crucial need to protect the security and privacy of these datasets. Moreover, with the help of large models, the popularity of AI applications is on the rise. Thus, tackling the security and privacy concerns surrounding AI-Generated Content (AIGC) has become increasingly vital, including issues such as copyright invasion of AIGC and privacy disclosure of model training data.

To ensure the authenticity, privacy, and copyright of these multimedia data, it is imperative to explore the information hiding, forensics, and security protection technologies. The key problems these technologies aim to address are given as follows: using the information hiding technology to ensure the secure communication of multimedia data; proposing digital forensic approaches with the high generalization ability to determine the authenticity of multimedia data, designing the privacy protection approaches to protect the privacy of training data, and protecting the copyright of AIGC produced by large models. In summary, information hiding, forensics, and security protection technologies target the security and privacy challenges inherent in these multimedia data.

This Special Issue invites original research papers exploring a wide range of topics related to information hiding, forensics, and security. Key areas covered include but are not limited to:
● Steganography and Cryptography;
● Privacy protection technologies;
● Protection of training data privacy in large models;
● Digital watermark and digital fingerprint;
● Digital watermark in AIGC;
● Methods of digital forensics;
● Fake detection technologies;
● Anonymous communication systems;
● Authorship and inventorship protection;
● Adversarial attacks in AIGC;
● Identity authentication in information security;
● Secure transmission technology and intrusion detection;
● Detection of trustworthiness and authenticity detection;
● Copyright protection and copy detection in AIGC;
● Security aspects of AIGC production.
