Special Issue Introduction
Future 5G and Beyond (B5G) networks are dynamic, programmable, and virtualizable. They can offer improved network infrastructures, high-speed data rates, improved service quality, and low latency with a lower cost margin. A range of technologies such as network function virtualisation (NFV), software-defined networks (SDN), network slicing, small cells and spectrum sharing are key enablers of such future network systems. Security, privacy, and trust are major concerns in such heterogeneous network infrastructures with diverse applications.
The aim of this Special Issue is to present high-impact research, technological architectures, practical solutions, and good practices, as well as visionary and thought leadership perspectives on security and privacy in B5G network technologies and their applications.
Potential topics for the Special Issue include but are not limited to the following:
● Attacks and threats in B5G networks;
● Security architectures for B5G networks;
● APT and Malware attack mitigation in future networks;
● Privacy issues for B5G networks;
● Privacy-preserving protocols for virtualised network assets;
● Trust architectures and measurement techniques for B5G networks;
● Cyber intelligence in B5G networks;
● Network slicing and multi-tenancy security;
● Secure access technologies;
● Secure and trusted orchestration in future networks;
● Sovereignty in future networks;
● Industrial control systems security and B5G networks;
● Regulation and compliance in B5G networks;
● Security issues in network service function chaining;
● Graph-based analysis of network service function chain.
