Special Issue Introduction

An unmanned ship is a carrier platform capable of conducting long-duration and wide-ranging autonomous operations in complex and hazardous marine environments. It holds vast potential for applications in various fields such as environmental monitoring, hydrographic surveys, map generation, maritime search and rescue, and vessel replenishment. Among diverse technologies, intelligent control and decision-making are the foundations for achieving autonomous operations of unmanned ships. Therefore, in-depth research on intelligent control and decision-making for unmanned ships, coupled with the exploration of new technologies and methods, is of great significance to the advancement and application of unmanned ship technology.

This Special Issue aims to provide a forum for researchers and practitioners to exchange their latest theoretical and technological achievements of unmanned ships. We welcome contributions from academia and industry, inviting the submission of original research papers, review articles, and application cases. We actively encourage participants to share their innovative achievements and experiences in the field of intelligent control and decision-making of unmanned ships.

Topics of interest for this Special Issue include but are not limited to:

● Linear/nonlinear control methods of unmanned ships;
