Special Issue Introduction
To successfully achieve the goal of 'carbon peaking and carbon neutrality', green manufacturing has become an important base for transforming the global industrial development mode. Green design, which plays a significant role in reducing carbon emissions during the product life cycle, becomes more and more critical for manufacturing. The conventional design theory that considers a single life cycle cannot meet the requirement of reusing and remanufacturing products that may have multiple life cycles. Fortunately, intelligent technologies, i.e., data-driven, digital twin, etc., provide more opportunities and solutions for green design. How to embed these technologies into the theoretical methods of green design and develop corresponding enabling tools will attract increasing attention. Therefore, this Special Issue will focus on, but not be limited to, the following topics in this field, and original research articles and reviews are welcome:
● Green design for multiple life cycles;
● Data driven intelligent green design;
● Digital twin driven green design;
● Knowledge based green design;
● Green design of industrial chain;
● Low carbon design;
● Development of green design tools for application;
● Engineering application of green design.
