Special Issue Introduction
Electrolysis and Photoelectrolysis have emerged as promising technologies for generating renewable energy and sustainable chemical feedstock. Recently, the combination of nanotechnology and machine learning has facilitated the discovery of highly efficient materials serving as catalysts and photocatalysts. These breakthroughs are pivotal in fuel and chemical production.
Considering these advancements, this Special Issue is envisioned to disseminate recent findings in the field, focusing on catalysts characterized by high reliability, stability, scalability, and efficiency. Our objective is to propel catalyst development, fostering innovation in materials science and technology towards practical applications.
This Special Issue will cover diverse applications, including but not limited to:
● Water Splitting: Unveiling novel catalysts for efficient water splitting, a critical process for hydrogen production;
● CO2RR (Carbon Dioxide Reduction Reaction): Exploring catalysts for converting carbon dioxide into valuable fuels, contributing to the mitigation of greenhouse gas emissions;
● N2 Fixation (Nitrogen Fixation): Investigating catalysts to facilitate the conversion of nitrogen into ammonia, a crucial process for sustainable fertilizer production.
Aligned with broader goals, this Special Issue endeavors to advance the field, promote sustainable energy solutions, and address environmental challenges through cutting-edge catalyst and photocatalyst research.
