Special Issue Introduction
Disaster prevention and resilience assessment of urban infrastructure systems (e.g., transportation, water supply, electric power) are crucial for the stability and growth of modern societies, especially given the increasing frequency and severity of natural and human-induced disasters. Artificial Intelligence (AI) and the Internet of Things (IoT) offer innovative solutions for enhancing disaster resilience and prevention strategies. This Special Issue focuses on various aspects of integrating AI and IoT for evaluating and improving the disaster prevention and resilience of urban infrastructure systems. The objective is to present cutting-edge research, methodologies, and applications that utilize these technologies to anticipate, manage, and mitigate the impacts of disasters.
Topics can be, but are not confined to:
● Natural disasters and risk analysis;
● Vulnerability modeling and consequence assessment;
● Risk-informed disaster prevention;
● Risk analysis based on the IoTs;
● Machine learning in risk and resilience analysis;
● Community resilience assessment.
