Special Issue Introduction
Carbon materials are pivotal in both scientific research and industrial applications due to their diverse structures and distinctive properties. With the rapid progress in nanotechnology and materials science, advanced functional carbon materials—such as graphene, carbon nanotubes, fullerenes, and carbon quantum dots—have emerged as a major research focus. These materials are renowned for their exceptional mechanical strength, superior electrical and thermal conductivity, and remarkable chemical stability.
This Special Issue is dedicated to exploring the synthesis and application of advanced functional carbon materials, emphasizing their role in various sub-topics including:
● Synthesis Techniques: Innovative methods for the fabrication and modification of advanced carbon materials;
● Energy Storage: Applications in batteries, supercapacitors, and other energy storage technologies;
● Catalysis: Use of carbon materials in enhancing catalytic processes;
● Biomedicine: Applications in drug delivery, imaging, and other medical fields;
● Environmental Protection: Solutions for pollution control, water purification, and environmental remediation;
● Electronic Devices: Integration of carbon materials in electronic components and devices.
We invite the submission of original research articles, reviews, short communications, and other contributions that provide new insights or significant advancements in these areas. The goal of this Special Issue is to foster academic exchange and collaboration, ultimately driving forward the development and application of advanced carbon materials.
