Special Issue Introduction

Electrocatalysis, recognized for its moderate, environmental-friendly and sustainable technique, drives reactions by the electrons generated on the electrode surfaces. Given its advantages, it has increasingly gained attention as a versatile strategy for satisfying the grand energy requirements for a clean and carbon-neutral society. Therefore, diverse efforts have been devoted to seeking fundamental and practical approaches for realizing outperforming electrocatalytic performances. In recent years, great achievements have been made in the research areas, including electrochemical hydrogen production (e.g., hydrogen and oxygen evolution reactions), carbon dioxide reduction, nitrate/nitrogen reduction, fuel cell reactions (e.g., oxygen reduction, hydrogen oxidation, alcohol electrooxidation), and so on. This Special Issue provides a platform for researchers to share their latest research findings, summaries, and perspectives on these research domains and relevant topics.

Keywords
