Special Topic Introduction
This Special Issue aims to highlight cutting-edge advancements in electrochemical energy storage materials and electrolyte systems. It focuses on advanced material design, including next-generation anodes and cathodes for batteries and high-performance electrode materials for supercapacitors. In addition, it highlights recent breakthroughs in liquid, solid-state, and hybrid electrolytes. Particular emphasis is placed on advanced synthesis and fabrication techniques that enable precise control over material properties and interfaces. These approaches are essential for optimizing ion transport, enhancing electrode-electrolyte compatibility, and achieving superior energy and power densities with improved cycling stability. By bridging fundamental materials research with applied innovation, this Special Issue seeks to foster interdisciplinary collaboration and accelerate the development of next-generation batteries and supercapacitors for sustainable energy storage.
