Shukla, who serves as the Editor-in-Chief, Soil Health aims to encourage scientists to embrace soil health as an overarching principle that contributes to sustainability goals, rather than only one or several properties to measure.
Editor-in-Chief
Professor Shukla, the Director of ACES Global Initiatives Program and Aggies Go Global, Executive Board Member of International Arid Lands Consortium, Fellow of Soil Science Society of America, Professor of Soil Physics, Department of Plant and Environmental Sciences, College of Agricultural, Consumer and Environmental Sciences, New Mexico State University, United States.
Professor Shukla is recognized for his research achievements in soil science. His major research focus is on the assessment of physical, chemical, and thermal properties of soil, and chemical fate and transport in the soil. He has received numerous recognitions such as the Leaders of Excellence Award from the Annual Water Environment Federation (WEF), Award of Appreciation by Soil Science Society of America, National Water and Energy Conservation (Team) Award, Nakayama Research Excellence Professor, and Award of Excellence for Microirrigation multistate project.
Soil Health is an international peer-reviewed, open access, online journal, aiming to publish articles in soil quality, soil water, soil chemistry, soil physics, soil fertility, soil microbiology, ecosystem services, rangeland issues, water management and reuse, water quality and scarcity, and use of brackish and produced waters for agriculture productivity and sustainability and their impacts on soil health. Soil Health provides researcher opportunities for interdisciplinary and transdisciplinary publications at multiple scales for soil, plant, and water, including agronomists, biogeochemists, chemists, ecologists, engineers, environmentalists, extension experts, geologists, horticulturists, hydrologists, pedologists, practitioners, soil physicists, and water managers. Soil Health publishes original basic and applied research, reviews, notes, letters, and book reviews. All submitted papers undergo a thorough peer-review prior to being accepted for publication by the Editorial Board of Soil Health.
The Editorial Board of Soil Health is comprised of 27 outstanding scholars who have made significant contributions to the field of soil science. OAE firmly believes that under the leadership of the Editor-in-Chief and the joint efforts of the Editorial Board members, Soil Health will achieve the development goals successfully.
