Grand Launch of Energy Z : A Premier Journal Shaping the Future of Energy

OAE Publishing is proud to announce the launch of Energy Z, an interdisciplinary, high-impact journal dedicated to cutting-edge research on energy storage and conversion. The journal was officially founded on August 25, 2025, and aims to document and accelerate breakthroughs that shape the future of sustainable energy and human civilization.

The journal’s mission is clear: to address the world’s most pressing energy challenges by publishing transformative discoveries and fostering collaboration across academia, industry, and policy. Its vision is to become a premier international platform where pioneering theories, experimental milestones, and groundbreaking applications converge, ultimately driving the next energy revolution.

Energy Z covers a wide spectrum of topics, including energy storage, energy conversion, and integrated approaches combining both. The journal welcomes original research articles, communications, reviews, and perspectives that advance the scientific frontier and contribute to equitable and sustainable energy access worldwide.

The editorial leadership of Energy Z is led by Professor Yuping Wu of Southeast University, a globally recognized figure in energy research and Editor-in-Chief of Energy Materials—an OAE flagship journal that has achieved remarkable success with an Impact Factor above 19 for two consecutive years and a top-tier international ranking. Building on this strong foundation, Energy Z is strategically positioned with an even higher ambition and broader scope, aiming to set new standards in energy publishing.

The first group of the Energy Z Editorial Board consists of 65 distinguished experts from across the globe, including more than 10 national academy members and many internationally renowned scholars with outstanding academic achievements. Impressively, over 80% of the members have an H-index greater than 60, and 26 members hold an H-index above 100. This outstanding team represents the journal’s strong academic foundation and international influence. It is also worth noting that this is only the initial group of editorial members—additional leading scholars from different fields are currently joining the board, further enhancing the journal’s strength and diversity.

The inaugural issue of Energy Z will be released by the end of 2025, with bimonthly publication thereafter and special issues spotlighting frontier topics. Authors worldwide are invited to contribute their best work to this new platform shaping the energy future.
