What is ORCID?
ORCID (Open Research and Contributor ID, is a not-for-profit organization. Its vision is to create a world where all who participate in research, scholarship, and innovation are uniquely identified and connected to their contributions across the boundaries of disciplines, borders, and time. ORCID is part of the wider digital infrastructure needed by researchers to share information on a global scale. It enables transparent and trustworthy connections between researchers, their contributions, and affiliations by providing an identifier for individual scholars as they engage in research, scholarship, and innovation activities.
