The Inaugural Editorial Board Meeting of Green Manufacturing Open was Successfully Held Online

The Inaugural Editorial Board meeting of Green Manufacturing Open (GMO) was successfully held online on March 15 and 16, 2022. The meeting aims to discuss the development plan of GMO in 2022 and the next three years.

Professor Hongchao Zhang, the Editor-in-Chief, hosted the meeting. Sixteen Editorial Board members from different countries and regions and the Editorial Office of GMO attended the meeting.

At the beginning of the meeting, Editor-in-Chief Prof. Hongchao Zhang extended a cordial welcome and thanks to every Editorial Board member for attending the meeting under the threat of the COVID-19 pandemic. Then he shared his original intention of launching the new journal. He believes that open access is a growing trend in academic publishing with the rapid development of internet technology. It is feasible to create an open access journal in the field of green manufacturing though with great challenges. After that, He provided a detailed introduction on the aims, scopes, and editorial process of GMO. Finally, as a highlight, he shared the publication plan of GMO in 2022 and expected the goals would be achieved in the next three years. Prof. Zhang expressed that the development of GMO is inseparable from the support of the Editorial Board. He warmly called on the Editorial Board members to contribute their efforts and promote GMO to scholars in the field of green manufacturing.

During the discussion session, many Editorial Board members expressed their opinions and put forward many constructive proposals, including maintaining an active Editorial Board, establishing the best article award to provide more opportunities for young scholars, etc. Everyone has great expectations for the new journal. In the future, the Editorial Office and the Editorial Board will work together to build GMO into an academic impact journal in the field of green manufacturing!
