Bio
Prof. Si-Yu Yao obtained his PhD degree from the College of Chemistry and Molecular Engineering of Peking University at 2014. From 2014 to 2019, he worked as Postdoctoral Research Associate at Peking University and Chemistry Department, Brookhaven National Laboratory with Prof. Ding Ma, Jingguang G. Chen and José A. Rodriguez. In Sept. 2019, he joined the College of Chemical and Biological Engineering, Zhejiang University as a professor. He received Recruitment Program of Global Experts in 2019 and Zhejiang Funds for Distinguished Young Scholars in 2020.
He has published more than 80 papers in Science, Nature, Nat. Nanotechnol., JACS, Acc. Chem. Res., etc. with more than 5600 citations and an H index of 39. His research on low temperature WGS catalysts have been selected as the “10 breakthrough of Science in China” in 2017.
Prof. Yao’s current research interests include water activation and hydrogen energy, heterogeneous catalytic and photocatalytic conversion of small molecules to polymer monomers and developing operando characterization methods for mechanism and kinetic studies.
