Prof. Honghao Hou is a full Professor, Vice director of Guangdong Provincial Key Laboratory of Construction and Detection in Tissue Engineering, PI of research group of Biomimetic Biomaterials and Interfacial Tissue Engineering of Southern Medical University.
He received his BS degree from Anhui University in 2012 and PhD degree from Shanghai Jiao Tong University in 2019, respectively. In 2017-2018, he worked as a visiting research scholar at Prof. Thomas P. Russell’s group at the Lawrence Berkeley National Laboratory and University of Massachusetts Amherst in USA. He joined the Southern Medical University in Guangzhou, China as a full professor after his. He is currently leading a research group focusing on functional biomedical material and bio-surface and interfacial tissue engineering.
He has published more than 20 SCI papers in Acc. Chem. Res., Adv. Mater., Angew. Chem. Int. Ed., Biomaterials, Bioact. Mater., etc. and 5 Chinese Patents. He also is a coordinator and a principal leader of more than 5 research and collaborative projects.
Prof. Hou’s current research fields include the synthesis, preparation and structure-function relationship study of biomimetic and bio-inspired materials for bone tissue engineering, cardiovascular tissue engineering, smart antibacterial, smart optical material, controlled adhesion, wound repair and flexible electronic devices.
