Yiwen Li is currently a professor at College of Polymer Science and Engineering, and State Key Laboratory of Polymer Materials Engineering of Sichuan University.
He received his BS degree in Chemistry from University of Science and Technology of China (2008) and PhD degree in Polymer Science from the University of Akron (2013). After two years’ postdoctoral training at University of California, San Diego, Yiwen began his independent career at Sichuan University in 2016. He is the recipient of the Polymer Young Investigator Award from CCS (2021), and Overseas Young Talents Project of China from NSFC (2016). MIT Technology Review listed him in 2021 as one of the top innovators under the age of 35 (TR35). He served as the associate editor for Materials Express (ASP) and editorial board members for Giant (Elsevier), Chinese Chemical Letters (Elsevier), and Molecules (MDPI).
He has published 100+ peer-reviewed articles in Sci. Adv., Chem. Soc. Rev., Adv. Mater., Angew. Chem. Int. Ed., etc. with more than 6000 citations.
Prof. Li’s current research interests focus on the novel macromolecular synthetic and structural manipulation strategies towards bioinspired polymers including synthetic melanin and polyphenolic materials.
