Special Issue Introduction

Tumor metabolism is a very active and important branch of cancer research in recent years. Understanding the metabolic properties of tumor cells is important for developing new therapeutic strategies. The purpose of this special issue call for manuscripts is to include manuscripts exploring various aspects of tumor metabolism from the perspective of basic research to clinical applications, providing scholars with a comprehensive view.

The study of tumor metabolism is crucial for understanding tumor biology and developing new therapeutic approaches. Tumor cells have different metabolic profiles compared to normal cells, which enables them to survive and proliferate in the harsh tumor microenvironment. In addition, alterations in tumor metabolism affect the tumor microenvironment and distant organs, which can have a profound impact on cancer progression and treatment.

The manuscripts that we would like to solicit for this special issue include, but are not limited to:
1. Basic knowledge related to tumor metabolism, including energy metabolism, biosynthetic metabolism and signaling metabolism of tumor cells. Then, the interactions between tumor metabolism and the tumor microenvironment will be explored, and how these interactions affect tumor growth and metastasis.
2. The potential of tumor metabolism in clinical applications. How to use the properties of tumor metabolism to develop new therapeutic strategies, such as drugs targeting metabolic pathways and immunotherapy. And how to use tumor metabolic markers to monitor treatment response and predict patient prognosis.
3. Current challenges and future directions in tumor metabolism research, such as the role of tumor metabolism in different types and stages of cancer, and how to translate basic research results into clinical applications.
