Special Issue Introduction

With the continuous evolution of smart grids, the complexity of power network systems is further heightened, posing significant challenges to traditional research frameworks. In response, digital twin technology and event perception technology have emerged as crucial solutions for observing and analyzing the future of intelligent power grids. Digital twin technology employs effective simulation and modeling methods to precisely observe the real-time status of the grid, providing a decision-making foundation to better understand and guide power system operations. Meanwhile, event perception technology, by monitoring and analyzing real-time data of the grid and using big data analytics, constructs effective metrics, unearths profound information within the grid, and promptly offers feedback and decision support to operators, thereby enhancing the reliability of the power system and swiftly addressing potential faults.

This Special Issue aims to delve into the application and innovation of digital twin and event perception technologies in smart grids, particularly focusing on their unique contributions in handling the dynamics and uncertainties of complex systems.
